The Columbia and Puget Sound was originally established as the Seattle and Walla Walla, after the Northern Pacific decided to make their terminus at Tacoma, as a result of the feud between the two cities over the railroad. The Seattle and Walla Walla originally only went to Newcastle, then was extended out the Cedar River to Black Diamond as the Columbia and Puget Sound.
